I find Bangkok a pretty interesting to post about. I was awarded an opportunity to pay a visit to Bangkok few weeks ago and I was so amused. Their historical destinations, culture, food, and even people are contributing factors to make this city so developed.
I'll first talk about the floating market which I happen to visit the first day of the trip. The floating market consist of variety of food and other goods. What makes it different is that as what we can derive from the name, floating, the market is on a river. We were, as if walking on a bridge and there were boats parking beside the bridge selling cultural snacks and food. Those snacks were indulging, totally satisfied that strong food crave of mine.
Second, no doubt, their infamous 'agua' show. Agua, literally means bisexuality. According to our tour guide, being an 'agua' in Bangkok actually gets a better pay than ordinary job, which I find it rather surprising till the tour guide brought us to a performance in one of the nights. It is clearly shown that there are few performances per day and basically, full seated unless you have booked your tickets. You are also allowed to take pictures with the agua's after the show, but you have to pay for your snap. There were no difference those agua's with women, but when they speak, *chocked*.
Lastly, the thai's culture. According to wikipedia, the culture of thailand incorporates cultural beliefs and characteristics indigenous to the
area known as modern day Thailand coupled with much influence from
ancient India, China, Cambodia, along with the neighboring pre-historic cultures of southeast asia. The day we stepped on Thailand we were surprised they can actually speak Chinese and Malay. The thai's are friendly, they actually greets us whenever we step into their stalls and greets again when we leave. Lovely aren't they?
I really love it, traveling, it actually broadens our mind. We used to think vicarious knowledge is important, but realize experiential knowledge seemed more vital.
